Please note that the order here doesn't tell you whether I like or dislike an ideology. It's about how commonly known they are, so don't you ask why communist nihilism is lower than Stalinism. It's my guess of the popularity. So stay tuned until the end for some of the weirdest concepts you've ever heard, I think. Marxism This is the most basic and one of the earliest ideologies of most of modern leftism. It describes the believes of karl marx which include but are not limited to workers being exploited according to the labour theory of value which I got an entire video on, society being in an unsolvable conflict which I have more than one video on because it's dialectical materialism and that ultimately a worker's revolution would overthrow capitalism and replace it with socialism. Which just means instead of rich people running trade and industry the workers themselves do it. Which is neat if you like individual freedom, nothing is more liberating than running your own workplace democratically. Leninism Leninism can be seen as a further developed from of Marxism, while Marx wanted the revolution to be spontaneously started by all workers which would need lots of class concious people, or by a central state guided by workers, depends on when you talk to marx. Leninism was designed for a party, called a vanguard to take power even if the workers aren't class concious yet because of a lack of industry like let's say imperial russia. That vanguard would take over the state, protect the revolution and develop the industry until the workers could take over and reach socialism. When this step takes place is a big questionmark. Maoism Maoism is often seen as a further adaptation of Leninism. It was made to take a poor exploited colonised country like China during mao's time and implement leninist ideas. The issue was that foreign capitalists would crush the leftist movements. So mao allied with the farmers and local capitalists, neither of which are technically working class, and planned to let local capitalists develop the industry instead of the state itself, before taking the economy over using the worker's state which should give all power to the workers. Stalinism When Lenin eventually did what all people do and died his vanguard state was taken over by stalin who changed course. Stalinism is not an ideology as such, it's more just a word used to describe everything Stalin did. Under Stalin the USSR went from international revolution to socialism in one country. They became more militarised, especially when defending against nazi germany and the position of the general seretary was made more powerful, officially to fight factionalism and disunity.
